Community Update 26

  • Medha
    • Working on Node 6 Specification - playing catch up!
    • Specifying the Performance test, Network boot for test net launch.
    • Meetings scheduled to discuss RChain Cost issues, such as execution costs, mint, rewards, etc..
  • Rholang team:
    • Variable references in review.
    • Starting on specification for deterministic unforgeable names - needed for validity checks in consensus
    • PR for Sets implementation coming today.
    • Having a horrible time integrating builds of Rholang into sbt build system - working on a less than ideal solution similar to our BNFC approach.
    • Casper, implementing checks on justifications.
  • Node team:
    • Trie updates to reduce the number of reads to the database.
    • Updates to RSpace to support an in memory version of RSpace, more faster, more better.
    • Working on metrics work to measure COMM events in RSpace
    • Trying to moving to GitLab, some challenges in getting the PR level testing that we require.  Escalating to their pre-sales team.
    • More challenges with secp256k1 with TLS, Medha wants to examine dropping K1 support at the transport layer.  We need to support keys using K1, but k1 has been demonstrated as 'less' secure than r1 - and support is limited.
  • Roscala team:
    • Object code export is done & merged.
    • Transition function will be done later today, need to include tests as part of pull request.
    • Multithreading implementation in a pull request.  There are changes to the data structures and OpCodes as a result.
