What you can expect this week

This week we plan to test bug fixes and new features found in the dev branch of rchain/rchain.

Prepare to participate

We will not be working on the RChain test net. To participate in this session, please install RNode and connect to the dev bootstrap node.

• Install and run RChain Node 0.6.4 (442665c0e0e4620ff23e700587227e6496c1f7fe)
   (see installation information below)

• Connect to the network via the RChain dev bootstrap node. RNode bootstrap addresses

Select a validator key

• Pick out a an unclaimed row with a validator key pair

• Specify your node if you want. You can wipe your information after testing

Installation information

NOTE If you used a previous version of RNode, please delete your existing .rnode directory. Most errors experienced using RNode v0.6.1 relate to content in the directory from a previous version.

Please install RNode prior to the start of the testing session. If you have run RNode previously please see https://rchain.atlassian.net/browse/CORE-961 and https://rchain.atlassian.net/browse/CORE-963 for support for resolving issues you may experience preventing the successful running of RNode today.

RNode version for this session

Today we will use RChain Node 0.6.4 (442665c0e0e4620ff23e700587227e6496c1f7fe)

• Binary packages (.deb, .rpm, and .tgz) https://repo.pyr8.io/rchain/downloads/dev/

• Docker image 

  docker pull rchain/rnode:dev

  Note - At this time RNode does not run successfully in Docker on MacOSX or Windows. See the User guide for running RNode for more information
