Rholang Sprint 1 Retrospective
Retrospective
What did we do well?
- Eitan Chatav (Unlicensed): Joe did a great job with the RhoCalculus interpreter work. Shaping up nicely.
- Michael Stay (Unlicensed): Kyle's work on the compiler bugs is appreciated. Very tight deadline. Medha is in violent agreement.
- Michael Stay (Unlicensed): SDK release appears to be back on track.
- Michael Birch (Unlicensed): Good to decouple my work from the compiler work.
What should we have done better?
- Medha Parlikar (Unlicensed): Churn on the compiler risked the release.
- Medha Parlikar (Unlicensed): Should have pushed harder on Mike for the tutorial sooner - didn't communicate that testing the tutorial was critical.
- Medha Parlikar (Unlicensed): We should have had someone else write the Rholang contracts & the tutorial.
- Michael Stay (Unlicensed): We should have noticed that the tests on the compiler were not running & the test suite should have been much larger.
- Michael Birch (Unlicensed): I discovered that things were broken, but I wasn't aware that these features were expected to be working.
- Medha Parlikar (Unlicensed) - what can be done to better dispense the status of each sub-project? Medha will refine the sprint goals for each team, and include those in the community update.
Actions
- Jeremy Busk: Write up a post-mortem on why the compiler tests were not running - Do a root cause analysis and write up what happened.

- Medha Parlikar (Unlicensed): Work with Kyle after the release is cut to come up with a TDD approach, via Rholang tests.
- Medha Parlikar (Unlicensed): Work with Jeremy to get the tests running again.
